The Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) is one of 60 STEP programs in New York State. Serving 80 students, our STEP program is a collaboration of the New York State Department of Education, SUNY Morrisville and LaFayette Central School District (which consists of the LaFayette Big Picture School, LaFayette High School, and the Onondaga Nation School). The STEP program will prepare historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students for college, and their pursuit of careers in mathematics, science, technology, health-related or licensed professions. To successfully accomplish this mission, the STEP Program will utilize a solution focused approach in providing a broad range of academic support services and enrichment activities to students in grades 7 - 12. These services/activities will be focused on academic development, research experience, professional development and personal growth.
